“The Land & Sea Adventure was absolutely wonderful, the best day of my Caribbean cruise. Spencer really takes good care of you and definitely goes the extra mile to make sure you enjoy yourself.”
– Margaret A, United Kingdom, Land & Sea Tour
A British gentleman recently contacted me and asked the #1 question we get at Spencer Ambrose Tours: Is our Land & Sea Adventure worth paying for over other companies’ land tours?
The answer is absolutely yes. Whether this is your one and only visit to St. Lucia, or a return visit, the Land & Sea Adventure lets you experience our island from two amazing perspectives. For just $90, you will see all the popular sights and landmarks on land—then you will hop aboard my speedboat for the ultimate sightseeing adventure of our beautiful coastline, giving you an outstanding view that other tour companies don’t offer. As dozens of enthusiastic client reviews show, the ride back to your ship will be one of your best memories of the Caribbean.
Without doubt, tropical beauty and endless adventure await you on my Land & Sea Adventure. Your adventure begins as I welcome you at your ship/hotel with refreshing complimentary beverages.
After I briefly answer questions, you will step aboard my van and begin your journey. First stop: the city of Castries. As we stroll our island’s charming capital, you will find historic monuments, colonial architecture, friendly shopkeepers amid the rich tapestry of St. Lucian life. Here, I will tell you of the rich history and traditions that give our garden island a flavor all its own.
Back on our bus, we make the exhilarating ascent up to Morne Fortune Overlook, where you can see St. Lucia’s emerald vistas and charming villages laid out at your feet. Here on this peak (2,795 feet), you will visit one of our island’s prime specimens of Victorian architecture, which today does double-duty as the residence of our Governor-General.
Next, I will guide you to Roseau Banana Plantation, where you will experience the sights, scents and tastes of St. Lucia’s leading export crop. Beneath a bright green canopy of banana leaves, you will learn the secrets of cultivating plantation bananas.
Continuing our journey, we will travel past dense rainforests, through lush tropical valleys and around towering mountains quilted in forests. Along the coast, you will pass through the quaint villages of Anse La Raye and Canaries, where brightly colored fishing boats lined up like a rainbow on the shore.
As we near the coastal village of Soufriere, you get your first glimpse of St. Lucia’s scenic jewels: the Piton Mountains, a United Nations World Heritage Site. These majestic peaks—each rising about 2,500 feet above the Caribbean—are breathtaking from any angle. If you’re feeling extra-adventurous, on another day I will gladly guide you up the larger of these two peaks, Gros Piton.
Soon we reach serene Toraille Waterfall and Gardens. Nestled amid exotic greenery, you’ll find a 50-foot waterfall with a cool pool below. I highly recommend taking a dip in the refreshing waters and letting the cascading water spill down your back.
Reinvigorated, next you will pass by Sulphur Springs. Located at the base of a dormant volcano, the cauldrons of bubbling black, sulphurous water have been dubbed “the world’s only drive-in volcano.” Next, nearby Sulphur Springs Park offers you the chance to immerse yourself in a therapeutic mud bath, where warm steam and rich organic minerals will rejuvenate your skin and lift your spirits.
Of course, no trip to St. Lucia is complete without a visit to iconic Jalousie Beach. Soak up the sun. Sink your toes into honey-blonde sand. Dive into the sapphire water. Snorkel amid schools of bright tropical fish. Marvel at the lovely Pitons sisters high above or just kick back in your lounge chair Later on, enjoy our homemade Creole lunch (complimentary) featuring a medley of St. Lucian favorites. But your adventure isn’t over yet!
Now it’s time to explore St. Lucia’s stunning coastline, so hop aboard one of my three state-of-the-art speedboats and we will explore stunning sights visible only on the water. I can guarantee this will be an experience you will never forget!
As we skip across water painted Caribbean blue, I will take you past secluded coves and celebrity mansions, and right up to unique rock formations, such as the Natural Bridge featured in Pirates of the Caribbean. Before we arrive back in Castries, we’ll explore one of the island’s favorite beauties, Marigot Bay. Nestled between strands of palm trees, this idyllic spot played host to the 1966 movie Dr. Doolittle.
We are one of the only companies on the island to offer this once-in-a-lifetime view of our magnificent St. Lucia. Take in our luscious shore and sights as we glide over the Caribbean waters and be sure to have your camera ready for the idyllic sights along the way!
“My family and I had a fabulous time on Spencer’s speedboat. The sight of the majestic Pitons cradling beautiful Jalousie Beach will never leave me, yet we also saw secluded coves, charming seaside villages, celebrity mansions hugging rocky cliffs, and lots more. Bar none, this was our favorite day in the Islands. Thank you, Spencer!” – Mark R., Washington, D.C.
Combining the best of both worlds, the Land & Sea Adventure will dazzle your senses, stimulate your mind, and leave you smiling with a once-in-a-lifetime Caribbean experience. The memories you make will last a lifetime and I will be happy to have shared the beauty of St. Lucia with you!~Spencer
