                       in the Derek Walcott Square

Departing from Castries, we will pass through
several banana plantations as we drive in a
south-westerly direction along the West Coast Road towards Roseau and the Roseau Valley Banana Plantation--the largest banana plantation in St. Lucia!

Stopping at the Roseau Valley Banana
Plantation, you will learn about the cultivation and production of bananas, our main export crop.

After pick up from your cruise ship or hotel, we will travel through St. Lucia's capital and make a brief stop at the Derek Walcott Square.

In this square you will see the large Samaan tree.  Known locally as the "Massav" tree, this tree is said to be between 400-600 years old!

Across the street is the grandest building on the square, the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, built in 1897.

Banana-Jewlery-222-X-207.jpg While at the Roseau Banana Plantation, savor the taste of our fresh sweet ripe bananas and maybe even wear our banana products in the form of bracelets, earrings and necklaces--all made from banana tree husks and leaves.

From Roseau, you will begin to experience the stunning landscape along the west coast as we begin our climb into strikingly-beautiful scenic lush hills.

Along the coast you will see the quaint fishing villages of Anse La Raye and Canaries.  These coastal communities are situated in coves at the foot of steep hills with colourful fishing boats lining their shores.

If time permits you may interact with the locals and catch a glimpse of their way of life.  You might even see the fishermen blowing their conch shells or chopping fish with their big machetes.

These unique, tropical cone-shaped volcanic peaks have been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site and are St. Lucia's most famous landmark.

Toraille Waterfall & Gardens

A short drive through the scenic town of Soufriere will take you to the tranquility of Toraille Waterfall. Set amidst a charming and serene, tropical garden setting, Toraille Waterfall is recognized as one of St. Lucia’s nature heritage sites.

Stroll a short distance through lush gardens to discover a breathtaking 50-foot natural waterfall cascading over the mountainside into a small pool below.

Take a refreshing dip in the pool nestled beneath the falls and let the cool water tumble down over your shoulders.

Our next stop is Sulphur Springs Park.  You will know you have arrived when you smell the strong scent of sulfur!

At Sulphur Springs you can either walk with a guide to see belching and gurgling pools of boiling mud and watch clouds of sulphur-laden steam rising from the dormant volcano or take a therapeutic hot, sulphur mud bath. These bathing pools are filled with volcanic minerals which are reputed to have therapeutic, healing qualities for your skin.

Changing rooms and showers are available at the mud baths.

**Select your choice of either the volcano tour
or the mud baths on the booking form.
